Materials NOT collected at the curb
Oversized Waste  
Concord's curbside program accepts only items that fit in a bag or barrel. Larger items may be disposed of at drop-off days  held in the spring and fall, by special arrangement with the Town’s collection hauler (800-545-4560), or by arrangement with a private hauler (look in the Yellow Pages under Rubbish Removal).

Yard Waste
Concord’s municipal collection program does not collect yard waste at curbside. Yard waste may be recycled at the Composting Site located on Walden Street across Route 2. The Composting Site is open Saturdays, 9 - 3, April through mid-December (weather permitting).
Leaves, grass, and other rakeable yard wastes are accepted free of charge.
Brush and branches less than 4" wide and 4’ long cost $5 per carload. Payment is by check only.
Larger sizes are not accepted.
Christmas trees are recycled at the Composting Site on designated dates in January at no cost.

Corrugated Cardboard over 3' x 3'
The municipal collection program cannot recycle cardboard larger than 3' x '3 at the curb. Larger pieces and large quantities may be drop-off at two location in town:
Composting Site - Saturdays 9 - 3, April - November
Concord Public Works parking lot, 133 Keyes Road, Daily
        
Construction and Demolition Debris
The town program does not collect construction and demolition debris at curb. Contact a private hauler for collection. Small quantities may be brought to the semi-annual Drop-off Day.

 Hazardous Materials
Hazardous materials are not collected at the curb. Hazardous materials include:
Oil base paint, stain, and paint related products
Fluorescent bulbs
Rechargeable batteries
Button batteries and specialty batteries
Automobile batteries
Motor oil, filters
Mercury containing items
Any product with a warning that reads "Caution flammable" or "Combustible"
Pesticides & insecticides
And many more

Paint and Related Products
Paint and related products are not collected a the curb
Latex Paint: Latex paint is not a hazardous material but it is not collected at the curb in its liquid form because it is messy. Latex paint in excellent condition may be brought to the paint shed for reuse. Latex paint that is not in ideal usable condition must be dried out before being disposed of with your regular trash.
Oil-based Paint: Oil based paint and related paint products are hazardous materials and should not be disposed of with your regular trash. Empty cans, dried out paint, and very very small quantities of oil based paint may be disposed of with regular trash. Larger quantities and highly flammable paint product should be taken to the paint shed for reuse, recycling, or proper disposal.
Paint Reuse and Recycling: Concord Public Works provides weekly paint product collection and exchange program at the paint shed every Saturday from 9 – 3, April through October, at the Composting Site Walden Street (Route 126) just past Route 2.

Computer Monitors and TV’s
Computer monitors and televisions may not be disposed of at the curb. State regulation bans the disposal of these items in landfills or incinerators in Massachusetts. These items and other electronic items may be recycled at the spring and fall Drop-off Day, or contact Concord Public Works at 318-3240 for information on how to disposal of these items.

Styrofoam Packaging Peanuts
Styrofoam packaging peanuts must be placed in a securely tied container. Barrels with loose packaging peanuts will not be collected. Styrofoam packaging peanuts may be taken to a shipping store, such as Mail Boxes Etc., for reuse.
