Thank you for your interest in the Concord Public Works Toilet Replacement Rebate Program. The program is offered through the Water and Sewer Division as a part Concord Public Works' comprehensive water conservation program. The rebate is offered on a first-come,
first-served basis and is available as funds allow.
To qualify for the program, you must be a Concord Water account holder, and you must be replacing a high-volume (3.5 gallon or more) toilet with either a 1.6 gallon/flush model ($50 rebate) or a High-Efficiency Toilet that uses less than 1.28 gallon/flush ($125 rebate). Only toilets that meet the Uniform North American Requirements (UNAR) for toilet performance are eligible for a rebate. Contact the water conservation office at 978-318-3259 for a list of eligible toilets or click on the link below.
NEW! For a limited time only, rebate amounts will be doubled!! Thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, eligible toilets purchased after March 1, 2008 will be rebated for up to $100 for a 1.6 gallon/flush model and up to $250 for a High-Efficiency 1.28 model.
Grant funds are limited and double rebates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Choose your new toilet carefully. Consider factors such as style, performance, fit and color of your toilet. New toilets have an expected life of 20 years, but many last as long as 30 or more years.
To keep your toilet working at peak efficiency, check periodically for leaks and replace worn internal parts. Water savings from a low-flow toilet can be significantly reduced if the flapper doesn't work properly.
What Are High-Efficiency Toilets?
Under federal law, toilets must not exceed 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf ). High-efficiency toilets (HETs) go beyond the standard and use less than 1.3 gpf. The WaterSense label will be used on HETs that are certified by independent laboratory testing to meet rigorous criteria for both performance and efficiency. Only HETs that complete the third-party certification process can earn the WaterSense label.
WaterSense, a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, helps consumers identify water-efficient products and programs. The WaterSense label will indicate that these products and programs meet water efficiency and performance criteria. WaterSense labeled products perform well, help save money, and encourage innovation in manufacturing. To learn more about WaterSense, go to:
