  • 2014/2015 Roads Program – CPW’s Engineering Division began work on the designs/plans for the 2014/2015 Roads Program.~ The current plan includes reclaim treatments on Seven Star Lane, Powder Mill Road (Sudbury Road to Plainfield Road) and Belknap Street (RR to Thoreau St & Thoreau Street to Main Street); mill and overlay treatments on Old Bedford Road, Spencer Brook Road (Town Line to Westford Road), Barnes Hill Road (Lowell Road to Estabrook Road), Estabrook Road (Cedar Way to Barnes Hill Road), Lowell Road (Barrett’s Mill Road to Hugh Cargill Road), Commonwealth Avenue, and patch replacement on Farmer’s Cliff Road; finally, an overlay treatment on an 800’ section of Bedford Street will round out the Program’s scope.
CPW’s Engineering Division staff has completed the in-house ground survey and base plan development for the reclaim streets listed above. Neighborhood outreach meetings were conducted in early April and the project was also presented at the April PWC hearing. CPW’s Engineering Division staff also completed pavement coring and sub base testing. Tentative plans are to advance the design in July for a bid in August.  Once a contractor has been selected a definitive construction schedule will be established and residents will be notified again.  The division is expecting to start re-construction in the late summer and continue as late into the fall as weather permits.  Any outstanding work will be completed the following summer.  Historically, the roads program is approximately a full calendar year from commencement to final completion.

You may contact the Engineering Division at 978-318-3210 with any questions.
