WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTORS
Position Offered: Water Safety Instructor
Hours Per Week: Minimum of 4
Qualifications Required: American Red Cross WSI certification. CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid. Must be able to teach weekday and weekend classes.
Qualifications Preferred: Lifeguard Training.
Compensation: Starting at $12.00 per hour
This is a part-time job.

Position Description: Responsible for teaching American Red Cross swimming programs that include Parent/Tot, Preschool, and Levels I through VI. Position requires excellent public relations skills and teaching ability. Must be able to work with all ages. Instructors are responsible for filing all necessary paperwork required by the ARC. Instructors should be aware of all fitness and pool related classes and programs run by the Recreation Department. Instructors must give adequate notice if unable to work their scheduled shift. Employee must arrange for a sub and get approval from Management. Instructors should be ready to work when their class begins. In-service training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory.

LIFEGUARDS
Position Offered: Lifeguard (part-time)
Hours Per Week: Minimum of 12; Maximum of 19.
Qualifications Required: American Red Cross certifications in: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training.
Rescue Skills Test: A rescue skills test will be required before employment begins.
Compensation: Starting at $10.00 per hour
This is a part-time job.

Position Description: A high level of expertise and professionalism is expected and required of every lifeguard. In-service training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory. Proper attire required, shirts, suits and whistle will be provided. Lifeguards will have the authority and responsibility to enforce all pool and facility rules. Lifeguards should be aware of all fitness and pool related classes and programs run by the Recreation Department. Light maintenance to be performed in and around pools. Lifeguards must give adequate notice if unable to work their scheduled shift. Employee must arrange for a sub and get approval from Management. Lifeguard should be ready to work when their shift begins.
