SUMMER HOURS GO INTO EFFECT ON TUESDAY, JULY 6th and CONTINUE THROUGH SEPTEMBER 3rd: Town Clerk's Office open Mondays through Thursdays 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Fridays 8:30 am to Noon. Closed all day on Monday, July 5th due to Independence Day Holiday.

Fall Hours Resume after Labor Day: Mondays through Fridays -- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; open Thursdays until 6:00 pm September through June.

Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Town Clerk’s Office to be a primary provider of information and quality services to the community, and to work cooperatively and in coordination with Town Officials and Departments, while performing a wide-range of functions to achieve established goals and to comply with state and local statutes.

The Clerk’s Office is responsible for recording and making certified copies of a wide variety of Town records.  These include birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses, Town Meeting records, Zoning Board of Appeals decisions, Historic District Commission decisions, election results.  The Office issues a number of licenses and permits – marriage, dog, business certificates (DBA), fishing & hunting, and raffle permits.

The Clerk’s Office conducts the Annual Town Census, and serves as the Town’s liaison to federal officials for the decennial federal census.  In conjunction with the Board of Registrars, the Clerk’s Office registers voters and conducts all local, state and federal elections.  The Office also serves as a Passport Acceptance Agency for passport applications.
