Public Works

Our Lady's

Public Works

Several major Public Works projects were initiated in 2006. Most notable of these is the $15 million up-grading of the Town's waste water treatment plant. This is the first significant investment in the plant since it was renovated in 1987. The improvements will ensure that the effluent water discharge to the Concord River meets the strictest environmental standards. Work also began this year on a $5 million addition to the Deaconess Well on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner that will filter the water from that well and the White Pond well, removing iron and manganese from the water and greatly improving its quality. Concord Public Works continues to oversee our investment in the Town's roads and drainage system, while pressing for State assistance to up-grade our bridges. Overseeing this work for the coming years will be Rich Reine, who began work as Public Works Director in November, following the retirement of William Edgerton after 9 years of dedicated and visionary service.
