Domestic Violence Services Network (DVSN), in partnership with nine police departments (Acton, Bedford, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Lincoln, Maynard, Stow, and Wayland) Hanscom Air Force Base, and the Concord District Court, provides outreach and direct support to victims of domestic violence through an extensive volunteer network.  DVSN provides annual training to over 225 police officers and dispatchers from our collaborating towns to offer consistent, appropriate and sensitive interventions to diverse victims of domestic violence.  DVSN volunteers and staff, in collaboration with sister agencies, organize and present events to educate the community about the dynamics and effects of domestic violence and to strengthen the safety net for those in need.

DVSN has two new part-time professional positions available for individuals with energy and commitment who enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.

The OUTREACH & PROGRAMS COORDINATOR will work with a team of professionals including the DVSN Executive Director, staff, law enforcement personnel, volunteer Advocates, and the DVSN education and outreach council.  The Outreach and Programs Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will encompass program development, outreach, marketing, public relations, training coordination, and collaborative development of protocols, procedures, and materials.

The FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR will manage all DVSN financial, payroll, and bookkeeping tasks in collaboration with the DVSN Executive Director and will work in partnership with and support of the DVSN team of staff, Advocates, and education and outreach volunteers in the planning and implementation of all DVSN programs, events, and trainings.

The Domestic Violence Services Network’s Outreach & Programs Coordinator will work with a team of professionals including the Executive Director, DVSN staff, law enforcement personnel, volunteer Advocates, and the DVSN outreach and education council.  The Outreach and Programs Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will focus on the following areas:

Outreach, Marketing, Public Relations, and Fundraising
•   Promote DVSN and raise awareness of domestic violence issues through newsletters, articles,
    outreach events, town festivals, vigils, open houses, marketing campaigns, and other similar
    events
•   Work closely with the DVSN outreach and education council to design and implement outreach
    and education programs relating to domestic violence awareness and prevention
•   Coordinate community response and public relations through participation in local domestic
     violence roundtables and the development of collaborative endeavors with other human
     service organizations, municipal entities, and educational institutions
•   Compile current domestic violence statistics for local, state, and national venues
•   Develop marketing materials and funders’ kits
•   Support the Executive Director in researching, organizing, writing, and managing grants

Volunteer and Law Enforcement Training Coordination
•   Coordinate Advocate recruitment and training
•   Organize and present materials/speakers for monthly in-service meetings for Advocates
•   Plan and implement annual training for all officers and dispatchers in our partner police
    departments
•   Prepare and present materials and training for new DVSN services, clients and/or first
    responder partners

Volunteer and Client Support
•   Develop and refine client materials
•   Develop and refine protocols and procedures for volunteer Advocates
•   Develop protocols and procedures for new DVSN services and/or client populations
•   Support Advocates in their work as direct service providers

Minimum Qualifications for Outreach & Programs Coordinator:
•   Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work,
    sociology, criminal justice  or related fields;
    Masters preferred
•   Facility with Microsoft WORD, EXCEL,
    ACCESS,  PowerPoint or equivalent
•   Three years experience in non-profit venue
    and/or social services organization
•   Successful collaborator and effective team
     player  
•   Excellent writing skills
•   Highly organized, problem-solver
•   Self-starter, independent, flexible
•   Understands needs of diverse populations
•   Strong communicator, enthusiastic presenter
•   Attentive listener, reflective learner
•   Professional demeanor, personable
•   20-24 hours/week

The Domestic Violence Services Network’s Financial & Administrative Coordinator will:
1) coordinate all financial, payroll, and bookkeeping tasks and
2) support DVSN staff and council members in the planning and implementation of all DVSN programs and events.  

The Financial and Administrative Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include:

Financial Coordination
•   Coordinate bi-weekly payroll requirements with current service provider
•   Track employee vacation, sick leave, holiday, and all paid and unpaid leaves
•   Maintain and manage employee benefit programs
•   Maintain and track all professional insurance policies
•   Pay all bills in a timely manner
•   Invoice expenses for reimbursable grants
•   Manage, track, and file all income and expense records
•   Record and deposit checks
•   Maintain, manage, and input all financial transactions using QuickBooks (or equivalent)
    software
•   Develop and provide regular financial reports for Executive Director and the Finance Committee
•   Support annual budget development process
•   Help develop budgets for grants

Administrative Coordination of Donations, Grants, and Fundraising Activities
•   Prepare acknowledgement letter for every income check and/or donation received
•   Maintain donor data base
•   Prepare donor reports as requested
•   Assist with Annual Appeal preparation, coordination, and production
•   Organize key information from donor envelopes
•   Track grant deadlines and timelines for deliverables
•   Support all fundraising activities
•   Manage cell phone donation program

Administrative Coordination of Meetings and Trainings
•   Prepare and circulate Advocate recruitment ads
•   Organize and track all aspects of volunteer recruitment and training preparation
•   Prepare volunteer packets and related materials
•   Prepare materials for Advocate meetings, trainings, evaluation collations, and speaker
    acknowledgements
•   Prepare and collate materials for Chiefs Council meetings
•   Prepare and collate all materials for law enforcement trainings
•   Track and order on a regular basis all office supplies

Volunteer and Client Support
•   Prepare and distribute to police departments the monthly Advocate shift calendar
•   Help develop and refine client materials
•   Help develop and refine protocols and procedures for volunteer Advocates
•   Help develop protocols and procedures for new DVSN services and/or client populations
•   Track and order on a regular basis supplies for Advocates

Administrative Support of Education and Outreach Activities
•   Read all local newspapers; collect articles related to domestic violence
•   Collect articles about DVSN
•   Help develop marketing materials, funders kits, client packets, and volunteer packets
•   Maintain a schedule for updating and reprinting DVSN marketing, training, and client materials
•   Maintain a schedule for ordering materials for Rachel’s Boxes, town festivals, etc.
•   Prepare materials for all outreach and education events

Minimum Qualifications for Financial & Administrative Coordinator:
•   Associates Degree in business, accounting,
    office management, legal studies, or related
    fields
•   Successful collaborator and effective team
     player; works well with diverse populations
•   Experience in non-profit venue, social
    services organization, and/or law enforcement
    setting
•   Experience with non-profit accounting
    systems and requirements
•   Self-starter, independent, flexible
•   20-24 hours/week
•   Excellent skills with QuickBooks or its
    equivalent
•   Attentive listener, reflective learner
