The Bedford Selectmen recently awarded a contract to Proia Construction, Inc. to replace the existing water main on Concord Road, between Davis Road at the Lutheran Church and the Concord town line. This will address water quality issues, as well as enhance fire protection in this area. The work includes installation of a new 12-inch ductile iron water main, new 1-inch copper services and new hydrants.
Work is scheduled to begin mid-September and continue to the end of the year. Normal work hours will be Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, weather dependent. Concord Road will remain open to traffic at all times, unless an emergency occurs. Although Police details will be on site to direct traffic, please be cautious when walking or driving along the construction site.
