Presidential Primary - February 5
PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY

The Massachusetts Presidential Primary will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008.  Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.  The Presidential Primary is open to all voters who are registered as a member of the Democratic, Republican, Green-Rainbow or Working Families Parties, or as Unenrolled (formerly called “Independent”).  Only these four Parties will be choosing candidates in the February 5th Primary.  Unenrolled voters are eligible to vote on February 5th, and may choose from among the four ballots of the recognized Massachusetts Parties.

If you have recently moved within Concord, and notified us of the change via the Town Census, then check with the Town Clerk’s Office to verify whether the change of address will be in effect for this election.  Due to the early date of the Primary, most census changes have not yet been made on the voter list.  If you have not completed a census form in recent years, then you are most likely listed as an “Inactive” voter, so be prepared to bring proof of Concord residence to the polls with you.

The deadline for requesting absentee ballots is Noon on Monday, February 4th.  If you have received an absentee ballot by mail already, then be sure to return it to the Town House by 8:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, February 5th.  Absentee ballots may not be returned directly to the polls.

If you have any questions or wish to verify your voting status or polling location, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 978-318-3080 or via e-mail at townclerk@concordma.gov
