Picnic In the Park

Concord will once again celebrate Independence Day at the 29th annual Picnic In the Park on Saturday, July 4, at Emerson Field on Everett Street. This annual summer celebration will take place rain or shine from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. Approximately 2,000 people will enjoy the day’s activities beginning with a bicycle and doll carriage parade. Uncle Sam’s Patriotic Jazz Band will kick off the music with a concert beginning at noon. Popular bluegrass band Southern Rail will follow and The Concord Band will end the day with patriotic favorites. Participants can take part in the traditional field games. The afternoon treat for families will be a program by Benjamin the Juggler, a clown from the
Moscow Circus. There will be a demonstration by the Concord Police K9 Unit. Tethered hot air balloon rides will be available weather permitting. Activity booths and food concessions sponsored by local non-profit groups will be open throughout the day, with their offerings of food, activities, and information. Picnic In the Park provides a showcase for the Town’s civic and philanthropic organizations, a wonderful chance to visit friends and neighbors, and great food and activities for the whole family during the Fourth of July holiday.
