Special Town Meeting
IMPORTANT UPDATE RE: SPECIAL TOWN MEETING 7:00 PM JANUARY 20, 2022
(One Article: Concord Middle School Building Project)
Special Town Meeting on January 20 will be conducted at Concord Carlisle High School in the gym, cafeteria, and auditorium with space for physical distancing. Masks are required inside the building. In addition, a limited number of parking spaces will be available for voters who wish to participate in the Meeting from their cars.
To participate from your car:
- Arrive early to secure a spot (voter check-in begins at 6:00 pm)
- Park in the area designated for car participation (Officials will direct you; anyone parked outside of the designated will not be able to participate from their car.)
- Wait for an election worker to check you in from your car, and give you the voting slip and handouts
- Listen to the proceedings broadcast live on WIQH 88.3 FM on your car radio or watch on your own device at minuteman.media/government
- Speak (if you wish) from the outdoor microphone outside the cafeteria
- Vote from your car by holding your paper voting slip outside your window for tellers to count

DETAILS ON THE SPECIAL TOWN MEETING TO BE HELD AT CONCORD-CARLISLE REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ON JANUARY 20, 2022 AT 7:00 P.M.
A Special Town Meeting to consider an article to authorize a Concord Middle School Building Project will be held at Concord-Carlisle High School on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 7:00 pm (snow date January 27th at 7pm). The Concord Finance Committee has issued a report on the article including the recommendations of the Finance Committee and Select Board. The Moderator has announced that, consistent with the Order adopted by the Concord Board of Health on December 27, 2021 and effective on December 28, 2021, attendees at the Special Town Meeting will be required to wear masks covering nose and mouth to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Those speaking to the assembly at a microphone will be permitted to remove their masks while speaking. As an additional precaution against COVID-19, the Meeting venue will include three areas of the building, the Gymnasium, Auditorium, and Cafeteria, allowing greater physical distancing among voters.
Childcare will be available at CCHS during Special Town Meeting. Parents are expected to pre-screen their children for COVID symptoms and recent exposures. Children over the age of two will be required to wear masks. Register for childcare HERE.
Approval of the Concord Middle School Building Project (the only article on the Special Town Meeting Warrant) requires both approval at Special Town Meeting by a 2/3 vote and approval of the debt exclusion in the subsequent Special Town Election by a majority vote. The Special Town Election will be held on February 3. Pursuant to state law, voters must be physically present at Special Town Meeting in order to vote at the Meeting. It is not necessary to attend Special Town Meeting in order to vote in the Special Town Election. However, voters are strongly encouraged to watch the Special Town Meeting proceedings before casting a vote on the Concord Middle School Building Project in the election.
